To accomplish our goal of improving healthcare and empowering better decision making, VisualDx uses the knowledge and resources of over 50 physicians on our editorial board and employs more than 70 staff members, including medical librarians, software engineers, imaging specialists, sales and account managers, and business development and marketing professionals.

Dr. Papier is the co-founder and CEO of VisualDx. A thought leader in clinical informatics, Dr. Papier maintains the overall vision for the company with a keen focus on product integration and impacting costs in healthcare through clinical accuracy. His entrepreneurial drive, years of clinical experience, and passion for delivering true healthcare solutions have propelled the company to the forefront of clinical decision support in quality and innovation.
A dermatologist and medical informatics expert, Dr. Papier has a particular interest in designing clinical decision support systems based on visually rich knowledge areas to reduce diagnostic error at the point of care. In line with this goal, he is focused on transforming medical education to include training in cognitive error and the use of information technology. Dr. Papier also focuses on consumer health by developing tools to educate and empower patients.
A graduate of Wesleyan University, Dr. Papier completed his pre-med studies at Columbia University, earned his MD from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and completed his graduate medical training at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He is an associate professor of Dermatology and Medical Informatics at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Dr. Goldsmith is dean emeritus of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and professor emeritus of dermatology at the University of North Carolina. He chairs the VisualDx editorial board and recruits expert physicians for both authoring and editorial contributing. Dr. Goldsmith is editor-in-chief emeritus of both the Journal of Investigative Dermatology and Journal Watch Dermatology, and he is an editor of the definitive dermatology text Fitzpatrick’s Dermatology in General Medicine.
Dr. Goldsmith is one of the Masters of Dermatology in the American Academy of Dermatology and has received multiple honors, such as the Distinguished Service Award and Distinguished Presidential Citation from the American Academy of Dermatology and the Stephen Rothman Memorial Service Award from the Society for Investigative Dermatology. He has been president of the Association of Professors of Dermatology, Society for Investigative Dermatology, and the American Dermatology Association. Dr. Goldsmith has headed many professional committees and served on multiple medical advisory boards. He is an honorary member of the British, Japanese, and Polish Societies of Dermatology. He holds a US patent and has written over 160 publications and book chapters.

JT Finnell

Dr. Finnell is chief medical officer at VisualDx. He has previously served as the chief medical information officer for emergency medicine at Eskenazi Health and chief architect for several emergency department clinical information systems; a research scientist at the Regenstrief Institute, Inc., and professor of clinical emergency medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. Finnell was recently selected as a fellow into the ACMI, a college of elected Fellows from the U.S. and abroad who have made significant and sustained contributions to the field of medical informatics. It is the central body for a community of scholars and practitioners who are committed to advancing the informatics field.
Dr. Finnell has spent the last several years developing and implementing clinical systems and evaluating their value. Working with Dr. Clement McDonald, one of the pioneers of medical informatics, he has studied the electronic patient record (called the Indiana Network for Patient Care) containing data from many sources including laboratories, pharmacies, and hospitals in central Indiana. The system currently connects nearly all acute care hospitals in central Indiana and includes inpatient and outpatient encounter data, laboratory results, immunization data, and other selected data.
Dr. Finnell earned his BS in Biology and MD from the University of Vermont. He was a chief resident in emergency medicine at the University of San Francisco-Fresno, and later completed a master’s degree in clinical research, and medical informatics fellowship at the Indiana University School of Medicine.

Louis Hyman
Chief Technology Officer
Louis’s healthcare information technology expertise comes from over 25 years in strategic technology roles and developing successful electronic health record systems, interoperability solutions, analytics and AI products and computerized order entry tools servicing physician practices, payers, and nursing homes. Prior to joining VisualDx, Louis held executive and senior management positions at companies, which include Fortium Partners, HealthEC, RaLytics, Carevive, SigmaCare (now MatrixCare, a long-term care EHR), WebMD, and LaPook Lear Systems, Inc. along with starting his career as a systems engineer with IBM Corporation.
Louis graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Computer Science from St. John’s University, has been published in several healthcare industry publications, and has spoken at numerous healthcare information technology events.
As Vice President of Digital Health and Operations at VisualDx, Louis is responsible for evaluating, and executing digital health strategies for the company.

Bernie Mangano
Chief Growth Officer
Bernie leads VisualDx’s Sales and Business Development organization and is responsible for growth in both the US and international markets. Bernie brings more than 20 years of experience in healthcare technology and a passion for helping clients and partners drive clinical and financial results all while improving quality of care. Prior to joining VisualDx, Bernie served as VP of Enterprise Sales at Collective Medical, helping meet the challenges faced by healthcare providers by enabling them to achieve the business results that matter, enriching the lives of their patients, improving financial and operational health, and mitigating risk. The cornerstones of his professional philosophy are trust, integrity and partnership. Bernie received his BS in Marketing from the School of Business at Northeastern University in Boston.

Onno Kluyt
Vice President, Engineering
Originally from The Netherlands, Mr. Kluyt has lived and worked in England, California, and New York. After starting out as a software engineer at KPMG Peat Marwick, Mr. Kluyt joined Apple in 1993 to lead the developer relations in Europe, helping ISV’s become successful on the Macintosh platform. In 1997 he moved to California and Sun Microsystems where he chaired the worldwide Java standardization effort and headed up the test engineering department with teams in California, Massachusetts, Germany, and Russia. In 2010, Mr. Kluyt joined Odyssey Software in Rochester, NY where he helped launch Odyssey’s device security products for iPhone and iPad, building a business relationship with Apple and developing the first version of the iOS application. After Symantec acquired Odyssey Software, he moved back to leading the development of security products for iOS, Android, and Windows Mobile with teams in California and India. Via lead iOS engineer roles at Constant Contact and Stellar Labs, Mr. Kluyt arrived back in Rochester at VisualDx, first as principal engineer and now as head of engineering.

Monica Taddeo

As Vice President of Finance at VisualDx, Ms. Taddeo is responsible for supervising the company’s financial reporting, planning, budgeting, and human resources. She is ultimately responsible for reporting fiscal performance to the CEO, Board of Executives, and company investors. Prior to joining the VisualDx team, Ms. Taddeo held leadership roles at Veramark Technologies, Callfinity, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. She received her BBA from St. John Fisher College and is a certified public accountant.

Dr. Nada Elbuluk is a board-certified dermatologist and the Director of Clinical Impact at VisualDx, where she serves as a liaison to the physician community and as an advocate for the delivery of equitable, unbiased care for people of color. Dr. Elbuluk launched and leads VisualDx’s Project IMPACT (Improving Medicine’s Power to Address Care and Treatment), a collaboration of the New England Journal of Medicine Publishing Group and the Skin of Color Society. Project Impact is a global effort to reduce disparities in medicine and highlight ways to bridge gaps of knowledge and improve healthcare outcomes for patients of color.
Dr. Elbuluk also serves as Associate Professor at the USC Keck School of Medicine, Department of Dermatology. She is honored to be a dermatologist at USC and to be able to serve the diverse population of Los Angeles. She is the founder and director of the USC Skin of Color and Pigmentary Disorders Program and Fellowship. She also serves as the Director of the Dermatology Diversity and Inclusion Program.
Dr. Elbuluk received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Princeton University where she also minored in Gender Studies and African American Studies. She completed her medical degree at the University of Michigan where she graduated with a Distinction in Research. While there, she received a National Institute of Health award that allowed her to also obtain a Master of Science in Clinical Research from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She completed her dermatology residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Afterwards, she was a fellow and clinical instructor in the Dermatology Department at The University of Pennsylvania. She then spent four years as an Assistant Professor at New York University’s School of Medicine, where she was the founder and director of the pigmentary disorder clinic and served as the Diversity Ambassador for the Department.
Dr. Elbuluk is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Dermatology and holds professional memberships with the American Academy of Dermatology, the Women’s Dermatologic Society, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the Skin of Color Society.

Chesahna Kindred, MD, MBA, FAAD is a board-certified dermatologist born in Oakland and raised in South Central Los Angeles. She is the president of Kindred Hair & Skin Center in Columbia, Maryland, and medical director of VisualDx, where she serves as a liaison to the physician community and an advocate for the delivery of equitable, unbiased care for people of color.
Additionally, Dr. Kindred is chair of the dermatology section at the National Medical Association, associate professor at Howard University, founder and president of Onyx Medical Society, leader of the health committee of the African American Roundtable of Howard County, and deacon at Celebration Church. As a speaker and published author, Dr. Kindred’s work and research culminate to improve race equity. She is lives in Howard County with her husband, Jamahl, and two children, Machela and Kingston.
