What installation options are available for VisualDx? |

There are three installation options for VisualDx:
- Standalone
- ASP
- Web server

What are the differences between the three installation types? |
| A: |
Standalone:
- Installs the entire application on the workstation
- Requires the most disk space
- Bi-annual updates must be applied to each workstation
ASP:
- Installs the Sun Java 2 Platform, Standard edition (J2SE) v1.5 Java Runtime Environment (JRE), if it is not already present.
- Runs the software through your browser from our web servers
- Requires a broadband (or faster) Internet connection
- Requires no bi-annual updates to the workstation (updates automatically)
Web server:
- Installed on your company's web server (IIS or Apache)
- Accessed by your workstations via their web browsers

What media is available for installation? |

The available media is:
- PC-based VisualDx installations require a 2-CDROM installation set.
- The web server installation comes on a DVD. The client installation requires either a network download or a CD-ROM drive.
- The ASP installation of VisualDx requires an Internet download or a CD-ROM drive.

During the PC-based installation of VisualDx, I am prompted to insert Disc 2 and then the installation seems to end. Is it installed properly? |

If you are prompted for Disc 2 and the installation does not display a progress bar showing the installation of images from Disc 2, please contact us for assistance. Contact client support.

I am unable to register my copy of VisualDx online. When I attempt to register, I get a message stating, "Your serial number is for demonstration use only and is not valid for online registration. Please contact Logical Images." |

Trial and demonstration versions of VisualDx cannot be registered online. Please contact us for assistance.

VisualDx is a Java-based application.

All requests are HTTP on port 80.

What else is required to run the VisualDx application? |

The Sun Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) v1.5 Java Runtime Environment is required to run VisualDx. If it is not already on your PC, you will be prompted to install it.

What if I already have an older version of the Java Runtime Environment installed? |

Java keeps its installations in separate folders, and all installed versions are kept intact.

Will VisualDx work with all browsers? |

VisualDx will work with
- Internet Explorer 5.5 and higher
- Netscape 7 and higher
- Firefox browsers 1.0 and higher

My PC is behind a proxy server. Will accessing VisualDx ASP work? |
| A: |
Yes. However, you must make sure that the Java plug-in proxy settings are correct. In the Java Plug In Control Panel, select the option to “Use browsers settings” in the proxies tab.
