Rochester, NY - June 25, 2007 - Logical Images, a developer of software that helps clinicians make faster and more accurate diagnoses of visually identifiable conditions, announced a one-year agreement with the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH). Using Federal CDC and HRSA bioterrorism preparedness funding, the WDH implemented Logical Images' VisualDx software in 30 rural hospitals and clinics statewide as well as on-site at the WDH.
With the majority of Wyoming's health care being rural and frontier based, WDH's statewide implementation of VisualDx will help address access to care issues as well as early detection and treatment of infectious diseases. Also, WDH will be taking advantage of the customization capability VisualDx offers by adding state specific health alert links. These links will strengthen outreach to over 1,200 clinicians throughout the state, allowing WDH to communicate critical information and facilitate disease reporting within the system thereby promoting the fast and efficient transmission of health alerts - especially valuable in the event of an emergency.
Used in a growing number of hospitals and state health departments, VisualDx is a comprehensive resource for visually identifiable diseases. Health care professionals can enter observations, symptoms, medical histories and test results, and then compare a patient's visual or radiological presentation side-by-side with images of possible diagnoses, sorted by relevance. Recently updated, VisualDx now includes over 20 discrete modules including fever and rashes, acute pulmonary infections, neonate and infant dermatological modules, growths and lesions in adult and pediatric patients, drug eruptions, oral lesions and growths, terrorism recognition, international travel, and female and male genital rashes and growths.
