Dr. Art Papier Receives Healthcare Achievement Award:
Rochester Business Journal presents Papier, renowned dermatologist and Logical Images' Chief Scientific Officer, with award for excellence in healthcare innovation

Rochester, NY - April 5, 2007 - Logical Images, a developer of software that helps clinicians make faster and more accurate diagnoses of visually identifiable conditions, today announced the release of VisualDx 5.02. This updated edition of the VisualDx clinical decision support software system introduces new features that increase the speed and efficiency with which doctors can identify and treat visually diagnosable diseases as well as additional modules that cover elder/geriatric care and adds a module on nail/distal digit. This increases the coverage that VisualDx offers for rashes, growths and lesions to a full life spectrum. There are now modules for infants, children, adults and elder care. The VisualDx system now includes 21 modules covering nearly 800 diagnoses with over 14,000 unique images.

Created in 2002, the Healthcare Achievement Awards honor organizations and individuals in the Rochester area who have made important contributions to the quality of local healthcare. A select group of honorees - twelve in total - are chosen in four categories: volunteer, physician, non-physician and innovation.

"My initial goal in creating VisualDx was to make the diagnosis of skin conditions simpler and more successful for medical practitioners of all types and levels of training. Rochester's vibrant research and clinical communities have made the area an excellent place for Logical Images to develop and perfect its software, and I am honored to represent my company in accepting this award from the Rochester Business Journal," said Dr. Papier.

Used nationwide in more than 400 hospitals and state health departments, VisualDx is a comprehensive resource for visually identifiable diseases. Healthcare professionals can enter observations, symptoms, medical histories and test results, and then compare a patient's visual or radiological presentation side-by-side with images of possible diagnoses, sorted by relevance. In February 2007, Logical Images updated VisualDx with new modules, creating a library of 21 discrete units including: acute pulmonary infections; neonate and infant dermatology; rashes, growths and lesions in adult and pediatric patients; drug eruptions, oral lesions and growths; terrorism recognition; international travel; and female and male genital rashes and growths.
