Designed for primary care and emergency physicians, nurses, PAs, corpsmen and medics, VisualDx merges a comprehensive collection of digitized images of medical conditions with textual information to guide diagnosis, treatment and management of visually diagnosable disease, including emerging infectious diseases (EIDs) and conditions caused by terrorist acts. It also increases clinician awareness, knowledge and skills in relationship to pandemic influenza and CBR (chemical warfare, bioterrorism and radiation injury) differential diagnosis.
- Improve clinicians’ ability to evaluate patients presenting with rash illnesses to help avoid false-positive (e.g., quarantined emergency rooms) and life-threatening false-negative diagnoses
- Rapidly access information about bioterrorism, chemical warfare, radiation injury, avian flu, SARS and other and infectious diseases
- Distinguish common influenza-like illnesses from those possibly caused by a terrorist act, avian influenza, SARS or other emerging infectious disease (EID)
- Educate clinical personnel in preparedness
Early detection saves lives
VisualDx helps clinicians rapidly build a custom, visual differential diagnosis based on their patient’s unique findings (e.g., symptoms, signs, medications, medical history, etc.) and quickly drill down to useful, actionable information on each possible agent/condition. Armed with the information most relevant to their patient, clinicians can diagnose and begin treatment early in the event of a terrorist attack or other public health emergency.
